Most of our blogs so far have been about keeping your landscape beautiful and all the plants in it healthy. Maintaining what you’ve got is excellent, but what if you don’t have what you want? Well lucky for you, Custom Acres can help you there too.

What Do We Install?
Wondering what we can help you install? Custom Acre’s slogan is “Custom solutions for all your outdoor needs!” so we install pretty much everything!
Whether you need sod laid and trees planted, mulch to surround, hardscape to frame it all and enjoy it, or lighting to help you see it all, Custom Acres can get it all put in.
Landscape Design
So you’re excited now. You are ready to add everything and the kitchen sink to your landscape installation plan. Not so fast.
The first step to doing anything right is to plan it out. If you’ve got an idea, we will help you flesh it out. If you don’t know where to begin, we can help you there too.
And if you’ve already drawn up a plan for your perfect custom yard, we will look them over, tell you if it will work, make necessary adjustments, and then put it in.
Landscape Consideration Before Landscape Installation
What do you want out of a landscape? Are you looking for a place to spend all your time? Do you want a beautiful backdrop for your home? Maybe you’re looking for something that will be no rush to take care of, or just the opposite, and you want the yard to be your primary hobby.
When we create your perfect landscape, we’ll want to have all of this in mind and several other factors.
Aesthetic Appeal
The primary concern is aesthetics when installing part or all of your landscape. So we’ll want to think about colors and textures. We’ll also want to consider heights and how they will all work together.
Life Span and Lifecycle of Your Plants
If we’re installing sod for you, you know how it will look. Assuming Custom Acres is doing your lawn care, the lawn will be green and well-groomed.
On the other hand, with flowers, you need to think about the life cycle. For example, perennials come back yearly, but they’re not blooming the whole time. Will you be happy with the way they look in the fall?
Annuals need replacement, or your garden will be filled with dead plants.
Trees can change dramatically throughout their lives. Consider your trees’ future height and width before adding one to your landscape.
Think about decades for some trees, but also think about the rest of your yard. After all, trees cast a lot of shade which can affect flowers and other plants.
So when designing your landscape installation, we’ll help you figure out how it will all work together.
Favorites Vs. Climate
Another factor to consider is what are your favorite plants and how they balance with the climate of your yard. We can do a lot to create an excellent growing environment, and Florida’s sub-tropical climate lends itself to many possibilities, but some plants won’t grow in certain places.
Maintenance
For many, the aesthetic appeal of their yard is rivaled only by the level of effort required to maintain it in factors to consider when installing a landscape. When you have Custom Acres to maintain your yard professionally, the effort is less of a factor, but you may consider the budget.
Some plants take more effort than others. Lawns, of course, need regular mowing and annual tasks such as fertilization. Flowerbeds can be very rewarding, but they also take more effort than other plants.
Flowers need replacing, pruning, fertilizing, and more. If you’re an avid gardener, your perfect landscape will be different than if you are the indoorsy type.
Of course, it doesn’t get any better than hardscaping if you’re looking for easy maintenance! Rocks, stones, and concrete need no soil or fertilizer and only occasional watering.
What Do You Want In Your Landscape Installation
For many, the ideal yard will have a mix of the above. So if that’s you, Custom Acres is ready to customize your acreage. Although if you only want a little grass and a concrete pad, we’re just as happy to help you. So what do you want in your landscape installation, and how can we help?
